Ward Clerk – Ward 6A
Ongoing, Part-Time Role
Ward 6A is a 32-bed inpatient unit seeking a highly motivated and experienced Ward Clerk for a Permanent Part Time position (35 hours per fortnight). This role is pivotal to the smooth running of the unit and this we are seeking a committed individual to join our team. Key responsibilities will include processing patient admissions, completing discharges, scheduling appointments and answering telephones enquires. We are looking for a candidate with excellent customer service, strong communication skills, who has a proactive and friendly approach.
This is a 35 hours per fortnight role.
Remuneration as per Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2025 – HS Grade 1 Year 1 (HS1) $58,442.80 per annum (full-time equivalent – $26,914.44 for part-time) to HS Grade 1 Year 5 (HS17) $64,610.00 per annum (full-time equivalent – $29,754.60 prorated for part-time) dependent on candidate experience. Position Summary
The Ward Administrative Officer role is to provide clerical and administrative support service to the nominated unit. The key responsibilities of this role are to:
- Act as the first point of contact and provide excellent customer service to patients, relatives, general public and staff for the designated unit.
- Provide knowledge in the Patient Administration System (PAS) and administrative processes, including those relating to patient registrations, admissions & discharges, appointments and revenue management.
- Liaise with other departments to assist the efficient and timely coordination of patient care and administration.
- Provide appointment bookings support service for patients and clinical staff.
- Provide administrative support to the Nurse Unit Manager for daily management of the unit
