Research Assistant (kConFab Research Group)
 

  • 12-month Fixed-Term, Full-Time position (Based at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre)
  • Managers & Administrative Workers Grade 1: HS1 - HS17
  • $58,442.80 - 64,610.00 AUD (depending on experience)

 

The Kathleen Cuningham Foundation National Consortium for Research on Familial Breast Cancer (kConFab) is a national research consortium investigating clinical, genetic and epidemiological problems of familial breast cancer.

 

We are seeking a dynamic, motivated individual who will be responsible for the follow-up of previously consented participants from breast and ovarian cancer families and the co-ordination and annual collection of biological material and imaging data. Duties will include, but are not limited to, arranging appointments with participants in the study, providing general information to participants about the project, administering research questionnaires using professional interview techniques, liaising with surgeons to obtain relevant surgical material, liaising with bio specimen bank staff and data entry. Previous experience working with families with cancer will be well regarded.
