YOUR ROLE IN OUR FUTURE

Registered Nurse Grade 2 – Radiotherapy – Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, Box Hill

Permanent part-time (48 hours per fornight)

 

Box Hill radiotherapy provides expert treatment and care for patients receiving cancer care. As part of the multidiscplinary team, nurses provide education, manage side effects and ensure that patients feel supported in their treatment journey. The nurses work in a small team and are responsible for comprehensive patient assessments, symptom monitoring and escelating concerns to the medical team. -    Reporting into the Nurse Unit Manger
-    Must be eligable to work in Australia, current AHPRA registration, police check will be done as part of hiring process, will require immunisation record as per Department of Health Guidelines

Position Summary

As a Registered Nurse at Peter Mac you are responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating evidence-based nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal healthcare outcomes for our patients.     


The Registered Nurse is a key member of the health care team responsible for ensuring nursing professional, organization, legal and ethical standards are met. The Registered Nurse  communicates within the multidisciplinary teams, and is responsible for supervising and delegating to other health care professionals such as Enrolled Nurses and Registered Undergraduate Students of Nursing (RUSON).

Essential Requirements
  • Commitment to Peter Mac’s Values and Peter Mac’s Nursing Values   
  • Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia 
  • 12 months recent acute medical or surgical experience
  • The ability to be rostered for a minimum of 5 shifts per fortnight to a maximum of 9 shifts per fortnight. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning and continuing professional development 
  • A patient focussed approach to care
  • Demonstrated team player who can foster collaborative partnerships 
  • Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems 
  • Maintain immunisation in accordance with the Staff Immunisation Policy, including vaccination against COVID-19. 
Desirable Requirements
  • Oncology nursing experience
  • Post graduate qualification in area of specialty
