Registered Nurse Grade 2 - Palliative Care

  • Full-time and Part-time opportunities available.

 

Opportunity exists for suitably qualified and experienced nurses to apply for a Registered Nurse Year 2 to Year 8 (YP3 to YP9) position in the 12 bed Palliative Care Unit that opened at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in 2020.

 

Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is one of Australia’s leading health care organisations, providing exceptional care and leading cutting-edge research. This position on the new Palliative Care unit at Peter Mac will provide an amazing opportunity for the successful candidate to assist with providing specialised care for patients requiring symptom management, complex pain management, end of life care and discharge planning.

 

We are seeking part time applicants (fixed term and PPT) to apply. Successful Applicant will be required to work on a 7 day a week rotating roster.

 

Selection Criteria – essential requirements

  • Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)
  • Recent and relevant experience of Palliative Care in inpatient (hospice) and acute hospital environments and/or community experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning and continuing professional development
  • A patient focussed approach to care
  • Demonstrated team player who can lead and foster collaborative partnerships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Membership of relevant professional organisation
  • Postgraduate qualification in palliative care nursing or work towards
