We are seeking experienced and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our Casual Nurse Bank, supporting high-quality care within our Ambulatory Care and Outpatient Services.

About the Role

As a member of the Casual Nurse Bank, you will be allocated shifts across Ambulatory Care and Outpatient Services, with opportunities to support inpatient areas when required.

You’ll work within a multidisciplinary team providing safe, effective and compassionate care for patients attending:

  • Chemotherapy and Infusion Clinics
  • Outpatient and Ambulatory Clinics
  • See & Treat / Minor Skin Surgery Clinics – assisting with and performing procedures such as skin cancer excisions, biopsies and other minor surgical interventions under local anaesthetic
  • Pathology Collection
  • Clinical Support for patients who may require advanced care or inpatient admission

This role suits experienced nurses confident working both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic clinical environment. We also welcome bedside nurses seeking to transition their skills into the ambulatory setting — comprehensive orientation and support will be provided.


What You’ll Need

  • Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 12 months’ recent experience in an acute or ambulatory setting
  • Chemotherapy administration skills and/or experience in outpatient procedures (highly regarded)
  • Strong assessment, clinical and organisational skills
  • Competence with electronic medical records and digital systems
  • Commitment to delivering safe, high-quality, evidence-based care
  • Up-to-date immunisation status

(Desirable: Postgraduate qualification in oncology, ambulatory care or related specialty)

Position Summary

As a Registered Nurse at Peter Mac you are responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating evidence-based nursing care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal healthcare outcomes for our patients.   

The Registered Nurse is a key member of the health care team responsible for ensuring nursing professional, organization, legal and ethical standards are met. The Registered Nurse is responsible for supervising and delegating to other health care professionals such as Enrolled Nurses and Registered Undergraduate Students of Nursing (RUSON).  

The Nurse Bank role is a flexible role that sees the staff member working across multiple departments within Peter Mac at Parkville or our radiotherapy sites at Box Hill or Moorabbin.   

Allocation of shifts to Nurse bank staff will be managed by the Peter Mac Nursing Workforce Unit. Shifts will be allocated according to organisational need based on staff requirements, submitted availabilities and confirmation of booking.
