About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and motivated professional to lead the delivery of high-impact improvement and redesign initiatives that directly support organisational and statewide cancer care priorities. In this pivotal role, you will drive projects that enhance service effectiveness, strengthen quality of care, and help achieve WCMICS’ strategic and operational objectives in alignment with the Victorian Cancer Plan.
Working collaboratively with clinical teams, program leads, and external partners, you will use best-practice improvement methodologies to analyse current processes, identify opportunities, and implement sustainable change. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about improving outcomes for people affected by cancer and contributing to system-wide innovation.
About You
You will bring a strong background in health system improvement along with the ability to influence, engage, and facilitate change across diverse stakeholder groups. Your strategic mindset, analytical skills, and solution-focused approach will ensure successful delivery of complex projects in a dynamic environment.
Key Requirements
• A tertiary qualification in health, science, or a related field
• Demonstrated experience in quality improvement, change management, and service redesign within the health system
• Strong project management skills with the ability to deliver outcomes within scope and timelines
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
Remuneration
Remuneration will be discussed with the Hiring Manager and will be commensurate with skills and experience.

- Consult with all the stakeholders within WCMICS to assist maximise the potential benefit from, and success of the project

- Consider all relevant initiatives across jurisdictions and align wherever possible with initiatives emerging across the sector

- Actively engage key clinical stakeholders to advise and participate in the implementation of the OCPs and ensure broad consultation and appropriate levels of stakeholder engagement
- Liaise with, and ensure engagement and commitment to the project by all relevant stakeholders including cancer clinicians across the state.
- Consult with subject matter experts and clinical leaders to ensure currency, relevance and feasibility of the solution
- Develop and implement a local communication strategy that maintains a high level of awareness amongst key stakeholders and facilitates information flow

Manage WCMICS consumers / volunteers with the oversight of the WCMICS manager, and engage with member health service consumers to promote their involvement in the co-design of cancer service improvement projects across WCMICS and the VICS.
• Provide WCMICS consumer leadership representation at Peer working groups or projects, as requested.
• Provide WCMICS Consumer Reference Group secretarial support including TOR, agendas, and papers.
- Develop productive working relationships with service providers across health services
- Provide high-level advice to the Project Steering Group and governance committees about improving information capture, monitoring and evaluation reporting
- Provide progress reports and updates to the Steering Committee, and DH as required
- Work with the project steering group and others to deliver sustainable project outcomes
