Private Patient Liaison Officer - Transactional Services
• Ongoing, part-time role – 60.8 hours per fortnight, 4 days per week
• Parkville location, with multiple public transport options available
• Up to $67,194 (prorated for part time) + salary packaging + super + 5 weeks annual leave

About the role
Reporting to Finance's Transactional Services Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the identification of patients with health insurance policies, maximising private patient participation as well as working in the development and update of accounts receivable procedures, process and documentation. The successful candidate will have a keen attention to detail as the identification and resolution of potential and actual workflow obstructions is also required.
This position will mainly be responsible for:
• Responsible for the identification of patients with PHI and maximisation of Private Patients participation.
• Ensure all documentation pertaining to Election and Claiming is accurately completed for processing by the Revenue Services Officers.
• Process Medicare Ineligible patients’ enquiries.
About you
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with highly developed customer service skills.
You'll bring with you:
• Skilled in the use of the following Microsoft products: Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with hospital Patient Management systems – (iPM)
• Work well is a sensitive/stressful environment

Position Summary
Identify patients booked for admission who have declared Health Insurance policies:
- Inform these patients of the Public Hospital Election procedures;
- Where patients elect to be Private, provide them with the necessary documentation for completion;
- Liaise with all Admission areas to ensure all appropriate patients are contacted prior to or as soon as possible after admission;
- Ensure all documentation pertaining to Election and Claiming is accurately completed for processing by the Revenue Services Officers;
- Assist insured patients in assessing their level of Health Insurance Cover;
- Process Medicare Ineligible patients enquiries; and
- Assist in obtaining relevant Insurance, Costing and Out of Pocket payments for Medicare Ineligible patients.
