Philanthropy Manager
Ongoing, Full-time role
 
ABOUT THE ROLE:
 
Reporting to the Senior Philanthropy Manager, the Philanthropy Manager will grow the Foundation's philanthropic revenue through major gifts. This role will be responsible for:
 
•    Developing and executing tactics to research, cultivate and steward an expansive portfolio of major gift donors and prospects.
•    Effectively optimising donor giving and retaining both existing and prospective donors through relationship management and prospecting skills
•    Engaging with relevant Peter Mac staff and key stakeholders to enhance the stewardship process of major donors to maximise program outcomes.
•    Optimising donor service delivery and overall fundraising revenue by working collaborative with other Foundation fundraising teams
•    Ensuring compliance with all relevant Privacy and Fundraising Legislation and maintenance of timely and accurate records in the Foundation database.

This position offers the exciting opportunity to work closely key stakeholders within the cancer research and treatment space as you provide strategic, tactical and administrative support and guidance.
 
About YOU
 
You will bring to the role:
 
•    Demonstrated fundraising experience, and proven success within major gifts
•    Proven experience in relationship management and major gifts moves management
•    Sound knowledge of fundraising legislation, practices and philosophy of charitable giving, as well as a keen interest in philanthropy
•    Excellent communication, collaboration and negotiation skills
•    Ability to build new relationships to generate significant revenue through donor relationships
•    Exceptional presentation, interpersonal and communication skills and ability to liaise with senior business leaders, high net worth individuals, people of high socio-economic status and key internal stakeholders
•    An ability to relate sensitively to people at all levels
•    Demonstrated ability to work productively both autonomously and as a member of a team
•    Excellent knowledge of fundraising databases/CRM software is highly regarded, along with an interest in cancer research and treatment.
•    Relevant tertiary qualifications, CFRE, membership and accreditation by the Fundraising Institute of Australia is highly desirable

 

Remuneration starting from $95,000 - $105,000 + super + salary sacrificing dependent on candidate experience. To be discussed further with the Hiring Manager.

1.Maximises major gift income and donor retention levels by developing and executing tactics to research, cultivate, solicit (written and verbal), acknowledge and steward a sustainable portfolio of major gift donors planning

- Plans and implements a 'moves management' strategy for major gift development to support the objectives of the Foundation and the funding priorities of the PMCC
- Builds positive relationships with major donors
- Formulates and delivers excellent written and verbal cases for support, to achieve major gift income objectives  
- Develops effective tactics to research, cultivate, solicit, acknowledge and steward major gift donors
- Demonstrated progression and outcomes of assigned donor portfolio
- In collaboration with other relevant members of the team, develops and executes a communication plan for major donor development
- Conducts annual profile and rating audit of Peter Mac's current and prospective donors
- Accurately represents the work of Peter Mac to effectively solicit major gifts
- Financial targets and donor acquisition, retention, upgrade and reactivation rates achieved
2.Fosters positive relationships with Peter Mac staff and key stakeholders (including Board and Committee members) in the gift cultivation, solicitation and stewardship process of Major donors to maximize program outcomes - Builds positive relationships with major donors and prospects enabling timely progression though the cultivation and solicitation cycle
- Works closely with Peter Mac Boards, Appeals Committee and other key stakeholders in providing strategic, tactical and administrative major gift support and guidance to maximize donor development outcomes
- Works collaboratively with the Foundation's Communications Manager to ensure messaging and presentation of materials are appropriately aligned with PMCC brand and funding priorities
- Work with the PMCF and PMCC key stakeholders to develop and deliver acknowledgement, engagement and the highest levels of donor care and service for all assigned high-value donors
- In line with the Foundation's donor service level standards, liaise with Foundation Supporter Engagement Team to ensure the prompt delivery of gift acknowledge and receipting
- Liaise with key Peter Mac key stakeholders to provide accurate and timely gift reports and acquittals
3.Maintains timely and accurate records in the Foundation database of contact with donors and other external relationships while ensuring compliance with all relevant Privacy and Fundraising Legislation Management of major gifts program - In line with privacy, fundraising legislative and compliance requirements, maintains detailed records of donor/prospect relationships and actions in Raisers Edge
- Accurately analyses and reports on the status and results of the major gift program's KPIs
- Accurately analyses and reports on the status and results of assigned donor portfolio
- In conjunction with the Head of Philanthropy, develops and manages major gifts cost centre budget
- Reports on, and manages major gift cost centre income and expenses within budget

- Works as a positive and contributing member of the Foundation team
- Works closely with the Direct Marketing Team to ensure the effective integration of donor engagement, stewardship and lead generation opportunities to optimise income and retention levels
- Promotes and acquires donors for other fundraising programs when appropriate e.g. Confirmed Bequests
6.Other Duties as required - Carries out other duties as requested to contribute to an effective and proactive fundraising department and engagement of donors
