The Team

You will be joining a team of collaborative and dedicated professionals with the People & Culture Advisor providing critical and time sensitive advice to employees and line managers on matters related to recruitment, employment and entitlements including advice on EBA interpretation and recruitment best practice.

 

The Role

The People & Culture Advisor will coordinate a variety of P&C activities aligned with their client group, work closely with their aligned P&C Business Partner to identify needs within their client group and provide employees advice on policies and processes. This role will be the first point of contact for those seeking assistance on a broad range of people matters across the employee life cycle and is focused on providing high level customer-focused support to the business.

 

This position is a full time, fixed term (12 month) position with the potential for extension.


We are seeking candidates with:

  • Tertiary qualifications or working towards qualifications in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a similar role providing HR advice to employees or leaders.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise as necessary.
  • Coaching capability enabling managers to deliver effective HR outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience interpreting HR related policies and legislation and providing advice to employees and leaders.
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing, written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong personal alignment with Peter Mac’s values of Compassion, Excellence and Innovation

Position Summary

The People and Culture Advisor role supports the People and Culture operations across the full employment lifecycle at Peter Mac.  The P&C Advisor provides advice to employees and managers on matters related to recruitment, and employment and entitlements matters, including advice on EBA interpretation, and recruitment best practice. The role is works collaboratively with the People and Culture Business Partners to support with case management, interview and selections processes as required.  The P&C Advisor working in a portfolio team supports and acts as the escalation point for the P&C Coordinators in recruitment, contracting and onboarding activities as required.

•Undergraduate Degree in Human Resources or relevant experience (or progression towards)
•A minimum of 3 years work experience in Human Resources roles
•Excellent people skills with the ability to work confidently with a range of stakeholders  
•Sound knowledge of HR practices, legislation, enterprise agreements, awards. Understanding/knowledge of Recruitment Best Practice principles and procedures
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills

1. Provision of high quality People and Culture Services and advice •Provide initial guidance on P&C policies and processes, related queries to ER or the relevant Business Partner as required
•Provide initial guidance on Enterprise Agreement related queries and triage to ER or the relevant Business Partner as required

•Ensure confidentiality standards are maintained at all times
•Distribute/escalate enquiries in a timely manner
•Support Business Partners as required with projects, ER and IR related matters including case management
•Provide coordination support for employee case management, including assisting affected employees during organisational change processes (e.g. information gathering, scheduling, referring employees to support services, and ensuring follow-up)
•Enquiries from People and Culture SNOW responded to or escalated as necessary in a timely manner
•Accurate and timely advice/support to managers in using People Hub (SuccessFactor)
•Support People Systems team to ensure People Hub accurately reflects legislative and/ or organisational changes as required
•Ensure all contract templates are updated to reflect EBA changes and updates as required

•Ensures employment and recruitment practice is in accordance with Peter Mac policies and procedures and relevant legislation.
•Ensure guidance notes and supporting tools are accessible, up to date and regularly reviewed to reflect feedback and changes to systems/policies/EA requirements.
•Train other team members where needed including educating in recruitment best practice and management of EBA and other queries
