Patient Information Officer - Health Information Services
- Ongoing, part time position
- 48 hours per fortnight (3-days per week)

About the role
Health Information Services is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic person to join our patient information team. This is a part time position three days per week, 8.30am to 5pm, 48 hours per fortnight. The job classification and wage rate are HS1, Level 1 as per the Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers (Victorian Public Sector) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2025.
As a member of the patient information team, you will assist with the maintenance and provision of patient records for patient care, research and education.
The position will utilise the Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR), iPM (Patient Administration System), and other electronic information systems used for document scanning purposes.
The ideal candidate will meet the following essential requirements:
- Investigative, problem solving and analytical skills
- Intermediate computer skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Highly organised, methodical worker with ability to prioritise work
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work as a team member or autonomously as required

Position Summary
This role will assist with the maintenance and provision of patient records for patient care, research and education as a member of the Health Information Services team.
This position will utilise the Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR), iPM (Patient Administration System), and other electronic information systems used to store patient data.
As a member of the team you will contribute to the management of patient information, ensuring accurate and timely access to data for eligible users.
Patient Information Officer tasks include but are not limited to the following;
- Prepping and scanning of documents into electronic systems
- Auditing of documents in electronic systems
- Analysis, correction and updating of documents in the EMR
- Other document management and quality activities as required
These tasks are to be completed within a cooperative team environment that is supportive of the needs of the department and internal/external stakeholders.
