Fixed term Part Time Role –Occupational Therapist Grade 3
45.6 hours per fortnight
Fixed term: 22/6/26 -28/8/26
Includes 2 days clinical & 1 days dedicated OT education lead
About the Role
This is a Senior Clinician (Grade 3) Occupational Therapy – Part Time, 3 days per week and will provide an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and highly motivated applicant to contribute to the care delivered in this specialist hospital. You will help patients maximise independence, safety, comfort and personal satisfaction and, in doing so, improve their sense of wellbeing and quality of life. Your role will include inpatient and outpatient clinical care as well as a broad range of leadership opportunities. In addition, the role includes one day per week in education as the department's education lead.
The successful applicant will provide strong clinical leadership and practice in cancer and Occupational Therapy as well as have extensive experience and leadership within the following areas:
• Leading a culture of quality improvement
• Leading the teaching, education, professional development activities within a department
• Developing a culture of research and academic activities
• Change management
The successful candidate will possess:
• Registered Occupational Therapist with AHPRA.
• Relevant clinical experience in acute oncology and haematology.
• A passion for staff and student education
• Experience in service planning, development and evaluation
• Strong quality improvement, education and leadership skills
• Strong interpersonal, communication and time management skills
• Knowledge/experience at a senior Allied Health level in cancer care
• Demonstrated leadership within the profession/Allied Health/cancer care

Position Summary
In collaboration with the clinical leads and head of department,
- Provide clinical care to patients with cancer, and their families using evidence based treatments (approx. 60 - 70% clinical)
- Provide clinical leadership across the team
- Build clinical relationships with assigned tumour streams
- Provide clinical supervision for junior staff and coordination of the management of the undergraduate and postgraduate student programs
- Contribute to service development and strategic planning
- Lead/ Engage in quality or research projects
- Lead/ Engage in departmental professional development activities
- Raise our team profile internally and external to the organisation
- Assist in strategic planning and daily operations of the department
- Act as a role model for others, demonstrating advanced clinical skills and leadership
