YOUR ROLE IN OUR FUTURE
A fixed term, fractional position is available for an experienced Interventional Radiologist to backfill parental leave. The position is available for 6 months from January 2026.

Position Summary

To provide high quality radiology services to the Cancer Imaging Department and to the patients and referring clinicians of the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. To promote and participate in research activity regarding oncologic imaging. If appropriately skilled, to lead, develop and oversee a world class designated modality specialising in oncological applications, safety, study acquisition and protocols. To participate in the on-call service when required.

Essential Requirements
Current specialist registration with AHPRA
Post graduate qualification in Diagnostic Radiology – FRANZCR or equivalent as recognised by RANZCR
Current experience in clinical radiology particularly cross-sectional imaging
Satisfactory participation in the RANZCR CME program
Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with medical, paramedical, and clerical staff
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, relatives, referring practitioners and other members of the community
Eligible for unrestricted Medicare provider number for the Peter Mac site

Desirable Requirements
Advanced skills in CT or MRI
Subspecialty Radiology experience, expertise and/or training as departmental needsrequire.
Interest and experience in education and research

  • Report turnaround time maintained or decreased

2.Performance of basic interventionalprocedures or willingness to be trainedif not already skilled. See appendix 1.
  • Satisfactory rostering to procedural/interventional areas
3.Active participation inmultidisciplinary meetings and clinicalconsultation settings to contribute tohigh quality patient centred care
  • Attendance and contribution to MDM’s as assigned
4.Active participation in research andeducation opportunities
  • Involvement in the generation of published and/or presented material to peerreviewed journals or scientific meetings
5.If appropriate, to lead, develop andmaintain protocols and procedures in adesignated modality
  • Involvement in the development and maintenance of protocols andprocedures
6.To supervise and instruct medicalimaging technologists, nursing staff,fellows and registrars in all standardradiological procedures
  • Supervision and instruction provided as per RANZCR requirements
7.To assist clinicians in selecting themost appropriate imaging examinations
  • Low incidence of inappropriate examinations performed
8.To participate in an emergency afterhours on call radiology service
  • Response to urgent after hours recall within one hour; participation in on-callservices
9.To participate in clinical reviews,audits, analysis, and evaluation ofprotocols and in quality improvementprograms
  • Participation in all required quality improvement activities
10.To set and achieve annualperformance objectives
  • Achievement of individual goals agreed at any previous performance review
