The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is an internationally renowned integrated cancer research, education and treatment centre. Members of the medical oncology department work in multidisciplinary tumour streams, and there is a strong emphasis on clinical and translational research and education.

 

The Medical Oncology Department provides a precinct wide service encompassing the Peter MacCallum, Royal Melbourne and Royal Women’s hospitals, and is based in state-of-the-art facilities at our new home within the Victorian Comprehensive Cancer Centre (VCCC) building. The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is affiliated with the University of Melbourne and is part of the VCCC Alliance.

This position offers an opportunity for a 0.1 Consultant Medical Oncologist to work in the Breast service.  The position is working in the breast clinic at RMH on a Tuesday afternoon.  This is an ongoing part time appointment.

Applicants will have medical qualifications that can be registered in Victoria and FRACP in medical oncology or equivalent.

Essential Requirements

•Medical Qualifications suitable for national registration by the Medical Boards of Victoria
•Post graduate qualifications in internal medicine, (FRACP) and medical oncology or equivalent
•Appropriate clinical and research experience post higher qualification
•Experience in participating in clinical research
•Experience in medical education at undergraduate and post graduate levels
•Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships with medical staff and other disciplines

Desirable Requirements
•Experience in management of patients with cancer
