Contributes to research, data collection for quality processes & participation in education, training and supervision of medical registrars.

Selection Criteria

Essential Requirements
  • Specialist Medical Qualifications registerable by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency Royal Australasian College of Physicians fellowship or equivalent
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team setting
  • Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships with medical staff and other disciplines.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ward review of inpatients referred by the medical staff of other units.
  • Participate in supervision and support of the General medical Registrars.
  • Where appropriate referral to subspecialty physicians on-call, or intensivist on-call forappropriate clinical support.
  • Participation in regular ward rounds with the Medical Registrar.
  • Liaises and communicates with the multidisciplinary treating team.
  • Actively and regularly participates in peer review and Divisional Morbidity and MortalityMeetings.
  • Contributes to Internal Medicine Service meetings and educational activities andcollaborates with related medical services.
  • Participates in departmental research projects and audits
  • Works effectively with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Participate in the collection of data related to activity of the General medical service.
  • Follows hospital policies and procedures
  • Contributes to the development of KPI’s that will assist in the assessment of
Clinical Research Protocol Development & Data Collection
  • Participates in clinical trials (if appropriate)
  • Participation in data collection related to KPI’s of the General Medical Service.
Trains residents, medical students and participates in other educational activities
  • Participates in internal and external educational programs.
