To provide effective supervised day to day clinical management of both ambulatory and admitted patients, included but not limited to assessment, admission, management and discharge.

Essential Requirements

  • Registration as a Medical Practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia
  • MBBS
  • Completion of internship for PGY2
  • Completion of PGY2 for PGY3

1. Clinical Management

  • To reliably assess urgent patients and non-urgent patients within 30 minutes and two hours respectively of the request.

2.  Patient Management

  • Satisfactory performance, under supervision, of the procedures listed in the Australian curriculum framework for junior doctors, relevant to Peter  MacCallum Cancer Centre including venepuncture
  • Taking arterial blood gases, IV cannula insertion, fluid management, pain management and end of life decision making
