Overview:
The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is a globally recognised leader in cancer care and research. The Medical Oncology Unit at Peter Mac includes world leading experts in multiple tumour types, and is supported by Australia’s largest cancer clinical trials unit. We invite applications to join our team as a Medical Oncology Clinical Fellow, tailored for Advanced Trainees completing or recently completed their Medical Oncology training, offering a unique opportunity to develop advanced clinical and trial expertise while delivering specialised, multidisciplinary cancer care within a research-intensive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality care to patients receiving both standard-of-care treatments and those enrolled in clinical trials, primarily in the outpatient setting across two streams
- Play an active role in clinical trial delivery, including patient recruitment, protocol implementation, and trial-related clinical decision-making
- Contribute to and collaborate on clinical and translational research activities within the unit
- Deliver expert medical oncology care as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Support and supervise medical oncology registrars and junior staff, with opportunities for formal and informal teaching, including medical student education
Opportunities:

This position is ideally suited to motivated Advanced Trainees with:
- A strong interest in learning and providing high quality cancer care and research
- Demonstrated engagement or interest in research activities (clinical, translational, or laboratory-based)
- Excellent teamwork, communication, and teaching skills

Essential Requirements:
- Medical Qualifications registerable by the Medical Board of Victoria
- Completed at least two core years of registrar level of training in medical oncology
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team setting
- Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships with medical staff and other disciplines
- Previous clinical trial experience an advantage
