Lung/Early Drug Development Medical Oncology Fellow
Full time – 1 position
Overview:
The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre is a globally recognised leader in cancer care and research. The Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre Lung Medical Oncology service is a national and international leader in phase 1 clinical trials of novel therapies through the Early Drug Development team and trials of novel targeted therapies and immunotherapies for lung cancer through the lung medical oncology service. The lung/EDD medical oncology fellow’s responsibilities will be focussed on the conduct of clinical trials within the lung and early drug development team as well as the delivery of standard medical oncology treatments and clinical care l for patients with lung cancer and thoracic malignancies. We invite applications to join our team as a combined lung/EDD fellow. The position is tailored for Advanced Trainees who are completing or have recently completed their Medical Oncology training, and provides a combination experience in all aspects of clinical trials and specialised multidisciplinary cancer care.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to clinical trial operations and deliver expert medical oncology care within a multidisciplinary team.
Provide high-quality care to patients with lung cancer and other thoracic malignancies receiving both standard of care treatments and clinical trials, largely in the outpatient setting
Opportunities:
Participation in all aspects of clinical trials extending from first in human phase I trials to randomised phase 3 trials.
Gain hands-on experience in managing patients independently whilst maintaining support and supervision from leading global experts

This position is ideally suited to motivated Advanced Trainees with strong interest in drug development and clinical trials and a passion for learning and providing high quality cancer care and research

Essential Requirements:
- Medical Qualifications registerable by the Medical Board of Victoria
- Completed at least two core years of registrar level of training in medical oncology
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team setting
- Ability to establish and maintain good interpersonal relationships with medical staff and other disciplines
- Previous clinical trial experience an advantage
