Our Cancer Research Division is currently seeking a part time Facility Attendance (Service Technician) to join our multi-disciplinary and dynamic Animal Facility Core.

The principle responsibilities are to ensure that sterilisation and sanitation are undertaken to a high standard, whilst adhering to strict BioSecurity barrier controls. The position works closely with animal technicians as well as research staff and students. You will support the team leaders and managers on issues of compliance, animal welfare and assist with the daily activities and maintenance of the facility.

Selection Criteria:

The successful applicant will need to possess and demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

Commitment to ethical treatment of animals
Good communication, organisation and teamwork skills
High level of reliability

The successful candidate will have a basic understanding of facility operations and the importance of maintaining high standards of sterilisation and sanitation.

Completes work in an efficient and timely manner	Demonstrates time management and prioritisation skills. Follows and completes work schedules & timetables.
Complies with sanitation standards and policies	Demonstrates basic understanding of sanitisation and sterilisation procedures
Complies with SOP's	Can demonstrate a clear understanding of SOPs associated with the wash room in daily work.
Teamwork	Involved in facility staff meetings and discussions. Works well with others in appropriately allocating space, equipment and work loads. Demonstrates a willingness to accommodate, animal technician and researcher requirements where appropriate. Willing/Able to carry out all tasks at or below classified level
