Your Role in our Future.
Peter Mac @ Home (PM@H) is the acute home-based oncology service for Peter Mac patients/clients and is available 7 days per week, 365 days a year. The service incorporates Hospital in the Home (HITH) and Home-based cancer care as funded through the DHHS.
The PM@H unit is currently seeking an experienced Enrolled Nurse to join our team as a community nurse in a part-time position. A commitment to providing excellent community care, professional development of self and others and a commitment to providing evidence-based care is an essential requirement of the role. We are looking for someone who can confidently work autonomously and within a team environment and will join us in contributing to the innovation of the service.
Roles and Responsibilities include:
- Central Venous Access Device Management
- IV fluid administration
- Antibiotic Administration
- Drain Tube Management
- Disconnection of IV Chemo Baxter
You must hold a current and valid driver's licence.

Position Summary
PM@H provides specialist cancer care for Peter McCullum Cancer patients in their home.
The service offers a range of services including nursing assessment, acute wound, central line, drain tube care, radiotherapy skin care, and Vac management.
The Enrolled Nurse Level 3.3 at Peter Mac is recognised at a competent level nursing role as articulated in the Peter Mac Nursing Professional Practice Model (PPM), working within the EN scope of practice. The PM@H EN will function with a high degree of autonomy, visiting patients in their home to deliver care. The EN will report directly to the ANUM on shift and will be required to function with direction and delegation by the ANUM. The EN will follow the PM@H escalation processes for any aspects of care that require consideration of scope of practice issues.
The position is required to carry out delegated elements of nursing care independently anticipate, prioritise and provide individualised care for patients receiving cancer care broadrange of patients. Once deemed competent according to Peter Mac Nursing policies and procedures, the EN will undertake technical skills including cannulation and management of Central Venous Access Devices (CVADs).
The EN will demonstrate commitment to lifelong learning, demonstrate critical thinking and reflective practice.
The EN will work under the supervision and delegation of the supervising RN within the PM@H team. The EN will function as a member of the community interdisciplinary health care team to provide quality, evidence-informed nursing care. At all times, the EN retains responsibility for their actions and remains accountable in providing delegated nursing care.
