  • 12-months fixed term, full time position

About the role

 

Health Information Services is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic person to join our patient information team. This is a full time position Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5pm. The job classification and wage rate is Grade 2: HS2, Level 1-5 (dependant on experience) as per the Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers (Victorian Public Sector) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2025.

As a member of the patient information team, you will assist with the maintenance and provision of patient records for patient care, research and education. The position will utilise the Epic Electronic Medical Record (EMR), iPM (Patient Administration System), and other electronic information systems used to store patient data.

Position Summary

Members of the Data Quality and Integrity team are responsible for updating, monitoring and maintaining the data integrity of patient information in Epic EMR and iPM which is critical for patient care and research.

 

Data Quality and Integrity Officer tasks include but are not limited to the following;

  • Management and auditing of data in electronic systems
  • Analysis, correction and updating of data in the Epic EMR and iPM
  • Other data management and quality activities as required
  • Assisting HIS Management in identifying system process improvements

  • Release of information provided to meet required timelines, in particular immediate attention to urgent requests

2. Patient data maintenance

 

  • All Epic EMR deficiency queues pertaining to this role are monitored continuously and actioned within agreed timelines
  • Timely response and action to requests for chart corrections in Epic and iPM
  • Ensuring consent provided for patient and proxy access to health hub
  • Monitoring of interface and error  queues
  • Regular monitoring and actioning of other data updates eg deceased notifications, doctor updates and invalid MRNs
  • Auditing of data for coding purposes

3. Provision of effective administrative support

  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders as required
  • Undertake all duties in line with policies and procedures within the required timeframe to meet KPIs
  • Perform role in line with confidentiality and privacy requirements
  • Participate in training and development
  • Work cooperatively as part of the Data and Integrity team and assist other HIS staff as required
  • Offer opinions and suggestions to improve work areas
  • Maintain knowledge and skill base required for effective performance and identify learning needs
  • Support and train new employees when required
  • Work cooperatively within multi-disciplinary teams to improve workflow in consultation with management
4. Contribute to a supportive and respectful work environment
  • Perform tasks associated with the role with patient care as the main focus
