Community & Event Fundraising Coordinator - Fixed Term, Part Time Role

The Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation is the fundraising arm of Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Fundraising plays a crucial role in advancing cancer research, with funds raised accelerating the search for cancer cures. The Community and Events Fundraising Co-ordinator will play a key role in inspiring individuals to create their own, or participate in, community fundraising events to make a significant impact in the search for cancer cures. This role is responsible for the co-ordinator of all campaign activities to maximise participation of supporters within the portfolio, including the planning, implementation and stewardship of fundraisers.
You will support delivery of the following:
- Challenge adventures, including the Larapinta trail
- Mass Participation events, including Melbourne Marathon and Run Melbourne
- Great Ocean and Otway Bike Classic
- Unite to Fight Cancer Virtual Peer to Peer event
- Community Fundraising Supporter events
You will be skilled and passionate about fundraising events, including community and peer-to-peer campaigns, and managing relationships internally and externally to maximise participation and fundraising.
About You
- Experience in the development and co-ordination of successful event fundraising plans of varying scale in the corporate and/or not-for-profit sector
- Experience in the co-ordination, cultivation and stewardship of a portfolio of fundraisers, corporate supporters and prospects, and servicing donor/sponsor commitments
- Strong relationship management and negotiation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent project management skills with ability to multi-task and meet competing deadlines in a fast paced environment
- The ability to exercise tact, discretion and good judgement, motivating people towards a common goal
- Knowledge and understanding of fundraising principles and practices is desirable

Remuneration as per Health and Allied Services, Managers and Administrative Workers (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2025 from $74,448.40 per annum for full-time (prorated for part-time) up to $80,000.00 per annum for full-time (prorated for part-time) depending on candidate experience. Position Summary

2.Contribute to the Foundations fundraising goals through the development, facilitation and day to day coordination of quality fundraising events: Including but not exclusive to Unite to Fight Cancer and the Tour de Cure Peter Mac Ride | •Under the direction of the Community and Events Fundraising Manager, proactively support major fundraising events (whether delivering the events in-house, or managing external suppliers) to meet agreed sustainable event deliverables, participation targets and net returns •Service level standards effectively implemented to develop and steward prospects through personal contact (predominantly telephone, email and targeted donor engagement functions) •Activities and reports demonstrate participant and income progression in line with each programs KPIs |
