MELBOURNE, VIC, AU, 3000
At Peter Mac we aim to continuously improve cancer care, research and education across all cancers and for all people affected by cancer: changing lives, breaking new ground. Everything we do is underpinned by our core values, Excellence, Compassion and Innovation. Welcoming people from a wide variety of different backgrounds and experiences is critical to fostering innovation, cultivating compassion, attracting and retaining top talent and providing the best possible cancer care for our patients.
YOUR ROLE IN OUR FUTURE
Communications Coordinator
Fixed Term, Full-Time Role – 80 Hours per Fortnight (Parental Leave Cover)
About the Team
The Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation is the fundraising arm of Peter Mac. While our internationally recognised cancer researchers have great success securing competitive project grants, these grants rarely fund new innovative projects or the state-of-the-art technologies and resources needed to undertake these research projects. Funds raised by the Foundation give some of the brightest minds in cancer research the specialised technologies they need to make important new discoveries.
About the Role
The Communications Coordinator plays an important role in bringing the impact of Peter Mac’s world-leading cancer research, treatment and patient care to life through compelling and meaningful storytelling. Working across a variety of fundraising programs, you will help connect our generous community of supporters with the difference their contributions make for patients, families and cancer research.
As part of the Brand, Communications and Digital team, you will create high-quality communications that inspire prospective and existing supporters to engage, give and stay connected to our mission. Through clear messaging, consistent branding and audience-focused content, you will help ensure every communication reflects the values, impact and vision of Peter Mac.
Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Foundation and broader Peter Mac teams, you will provide strategic communications support that strengthens supporter relationships, enhances the Peter Mac brand and contributes to fundraising success. You will proactively identify opportunities to innovate and improve content across a range of channels, ensuring our stories resonate with diverse audiences and showcase the impact of philanthropic support.
Key responsibilities include:
• Creating engaging and impactful content across a range of channels and audiences to inspire support and fundraising.
• Providing communications support and advice to fundraising programs and campaigns.

• Managing and maintaining the Foundation’s communications assets and resources.
• Supporting the ongoing development and stewardship of the Peter Mac Cancer Foundation brand.
• Collaborating with internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality communications that build awareness, engagement and support for the Foundation.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative and collaborative communicator who is passionate about storytelling and wants to use their skills to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people affected by cancer.
