 Grade 3 Clinical Psychologist 
 Part Time FTE 0.5 - 24 months

 

About the Role
The Grade 3 Clinical Psychologist will lead the development, delivery, and evaluation of evidence based suicide prevention interventions for people affected by cancer. Working within a psychosocial oncology setting, the role will provide specialist clinical input to individuals experiencing suicidal ideation, distress, and psychosocial risk across the cancer trajectory.
The position requires advanced clinical expertise in suicide risk assessment and intervention, alongside experience delivering therapeutic interventions to individuals with complex mental health and medical comorbidities. 

 

The role also includes a strong research and evaluation component, with responsibility for contributing to the evaluation of intervention outcomes, data collection and analysis, and dissemination of findings to support continuous improvement and evidence informed practice. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, consumers, and stakeholders will be central to ensuring interventions are safe, effective, and responsive to the needs of people with cancer.

 

Remuneration
As per the MEDICAL SCIENTISTS, PHARMACISTS AND PSYCHOLOGISTS VICTORIAN PUBLIC SECTOR (SINGLE INTEREST EMPLOYERS) ENTERPRISE AGREEMENT 2021-2025. Grade 2 Level 1 [PL1] $56,989.296 to Grade 3 Level 4 [PL4] $65,213.512. Based on Candidate Experience.

Skills

Essential requirements •    Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia
•    An APAC approved Post Graduate qualification to Masters level in Clinical Psychology
•    Clinical experience in delivering psychological services to people with cancer and their families in healthcare or mental health settings.
•    Endorsement or proof of working towards endorsement in ‘clinical psychology’ area of practice
•    Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment
Desirable requirements •    Understanding of cancer and hospital systems
•    An understanding of and experience with developing evidence-based practice in cancer care
•    Demonstrated involvement in professional activities
