Cardiac Sonographer
• Ongoing Part Time Role – 32 Hours per Fortnight
• $105,135.20 – $118,981.20 (annualised full-time equivalent, pro-rata for part time) + Super + Salary Packaging
• Location: Parkville, Melbourne
About the Role
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Cardiac Sonographer to join our team and support the delivery of high-quality echocardiography services for both ambulatory patients and inpatients at our Parkville campus.
Working within a multidisciplinary clinical environment, the Cardiac Sonographer will perform and report high-quality echocardiograms to support the monitoring and management of cardiac function in oncology patients. This role is critical in supporting patient care where cardiotoxic treatments require ongoing cardiac assessment.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled sonographer who enjoys working collaboratively in a specialised healthcare setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms for ambulatory and inpatient services
• Provide accurate measurements and preliminary technical reports for cardiology review
• Maintain imaging quality and adhere to established clinical protocols and standards
• Work collaboratively with cardiologists, oncologists and multidisciplinary clinical teams
• Contribute to patient-centred care through professional communication and compassion
• Maintain compliance with professional, quality assurance and infection control standards
• Participate in departmental quality improvement and professional development activities
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
• Accreditation and current membership with the Australian Sonographers Accreditation Registry (ASAR)
• Demonstrated experience working as a Cardiac Sonographer, including performing transthoracic echocardiography
• Excellent technical scanning skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team
• A commitment to high standards of patient care and professional practice
Remuneration as per Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021-2026. Cardiac Technologist Grade 3, Year 1 (BC1): 104,135.200 (full-time equivalent - to be prorated for Part Time) – Grade 3, Year 4 (BC4): (full-time equivalent - to be prorated for Part Time) dependent on candidate experience. To be discussed with Hiring Manager.
Above-award payments may be negotiated for suitably qualified and experienced applicants.
Appointment to this position may be subject to successful completion of a test echocardiograph scan, to be undertaken at The Royal Melbourne Hospital.
