Position Summary

The Business Intelligence and Analytics team operates the hospital's Azure-based data warehouse and analytics platform, which provides management reporting and performance insights across the organization. The team supports strategic decision-making and operational performance management for hospital leadership and department managers.

The role offers the chance to work with rich clinical and operational datasets where your solutions directly impact patient care quality and hospital performance - it's technically challenging work that matters.

With the hospital's EPIC EMR now operational, we're continuously expanding our data coverage and analytical capabilities to support more sophisticated decision-making across the hospital. This is primarily a development role (80%) with some maintenance responsibilities (20%). We're actively modernizing our platform (transitioning from SSIS to Azure Data Factory, optimizing our tabular models) so there's opportunity to work with both established and emerging technologies.

This role reports to the Business Intelligence Manager and will contribute to the design of data solutions, implementing pipelines, extending dimensional models, and developing reporting solutions. You'll work alongside an experienced data developer, and collaborate with data analysts to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions, with the judgment to flag when exceptions or improvements make sense.

We need someone conceptually strong who can understand our data architecture, work semi-independently on implementation, and bring thoughtful questions and suggestions when something could be improved.
