YOUR ROLE IN OUR FUTURE
Biomedical Technologist Grade 1
- Casual position available (parental leave coverage)
- Grade 1: BT20 - BT23 ($32.74 to $35.41 per hour + applicable casual loading)
About the role
You will provide biomedical technical support across a range of services for the Peter Mac Cancer Centre, primarily at its VCCC campus (and other sites as required). To ensure quality assurance and safety of general medical devices as well as specialised equipment used for brachytherapy and radiation dosimetry.
Duties include the repair and preventive maintenance of electrical, electronic and scientific equipment; equipment calibration; and participation in design and development projects. Please note that some equipment requires special lifting procedures.
About you
You will have good communication skills with a demonstratable ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
You'll bring with you:
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Science / Engineering
- Some experience working with medical devices
- Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and TGA framework
- Good problem solving and decision-making ability
- Good knowledge of electronics repair
- Ability to document and report on work
- Flexibility to participate in a variety of Biomedical Engineering work and activities, including out of hours duties, early, late and weekend shifts, on call roster and emergency shifts
