YOUR ROLE IN OUR FUTURE
Senior Biomedical Engineer
•    Ongoing, Full Time Role
•    80 hours per fortnight with monthly ADOs
•    $111,905.56 to $121,209.40 base salary + salary packaging + super + 5-weeks annual leave
 
About the role
You will provide biomedical engineering support across a range of services for the Peter Mac Cancer Centre, primarily at its VCCC campus (and other sites as required) to ensure quality assurance and safety of general medical devices as well as specialised equipment used for brachytherapy and radiation dosimetry.
 
Duties include supervising and performing repair and preventive maintenance of medical, electrical, electronic, Radiotherapy and scientific equipment; equipment calibration; and participation in design and development projects. Please note that some equipment requires special heavy lifting procedures.
 
About you
You will have good communication skills with a demonstratable ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
 
You'll bring with you:
•    Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering or Equivalent
•    Excellent knowledge of medical devices and patient-related electrical equipment.
•    Excellent problem solving and decision-making ability.
•    Excellent knowledge of electronics repair and IT network troubleshooting.
•    Excellent Knowledge of asset lifecycle management.
•    Good knowledge of IT technology, cyber security, and programming languages
•    Good knowledge of the design and development of new electronic and medical devices.
•    Proven experience working on EMR integration and medical device networking projects.
•    Proven experience in managing project and completing on time.
•    Experience working with medical devices
•    Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards and TGA framework

Position Summary

Full time Senior Biomedical Engineer

To provide biomedical engineering support across a range of services for the Peter Mac Cancer Centre, primarily at its VCCC campus (and other sites as required).

All positions will require some out of hour’s duties, which may include weekend work.

  • Core Clinical Services: Engages in clinical services (Laser procedure, Brachytherapy, and photodynamic therapy). Follows department guidelines and trains junior staff. Performs work under the direction of a Chief engineer.
  • Specialized Clinical Services: Assist or work independently with Design, develop and provide technical Support for TBE, 3D Printing, Eye tracker, Brachytherapy, PDT, Physics QA devices, Design and develop other new devices as required.
