Associate Nurse Unit Manager - Ward 5A Haematology
12-month fixed term position (maternity leave coverage)
Part Time Role - 64 Hours per Fortnight
About the team
Ward 5A is a 32-bed unit and forms part of one of the largest haematology services in Victoria. Our patient specialities consist of Myeloma, Lymphoma, clinical trials and cellular therapies including autologous transplants and CAR-T. Working in a supportive patient focused and collegial environment the Ward 5A team will support you to grow as a specialised haematology nurse responsible for comprehensive patient assessment and delivery of high-quality cancer care.
About the role
This role presents an excellent opportunity for a Senior Registered Nurse or Associate Nurse Unit Manager to further develop and consolidate leadership skills within a supportive and collaborative environment. Working closely with the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM), the ANUM will contribute to the effective operational and workforce management of Ward 5A.
The ANUM will support the NUM through the coordination of patient flow, oversight of nursing care, and active collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of safe, high quality patient care. In addition, the ANUM will provide clinical leadership to nursing staff through role modelling, mentorship, and support, while fostering a culture of personal and professional accountability.
This position requires highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, strong organisational ability, and the capacity to prioritise and adapt to change within a dynamic, growing, and supportive clinical environment
We are Seeking an ANUM with:

Responsibilities of the ANUM include:
• Coordination of patient flow and bed management
• Acts as a clinical resource and support for staff, working collaboratively with the Practice Development nurse to provide clinical supervision and create learning opportunities
• Build strong relationships with all stakeholders to ensure a collaborative team environment
• Implement local policy and national standards to ensure the provision of high-quality evidence based care
• Acting as a role model to all staff and demonstrating accountability in daily practice
• Commitment to own professional development, actively seeks feedback and opportunities for growth
Remuneration as per Nurses and Midwives (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2024-2028. RN ANUM, Year 1 (YW11): 116,906.40 (full-time equivalent - to be prorated for Part Time) – RN ANUM, Year 2 (YW12): $120,848.00 40 (full-time equivalent - to be prorated for Part Time), dependent on candidate experience. Position Summary
The role of the Associate Nurse Unit Manger is to support the Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) and act in their role when required. This is a position of clinical leadership and accountability that aligns with Peter Mac’s values. This includes management of the unit through the coordination of nursing activities and related services for the provision of quality patient focused care in conjunction with other members of the leadership team.
To translate the objectives policies, and procedures of PMCC into effective care for our patients.
To ensure/apply evidence based best practice standards of oncology nursing practice.
