About the team
Cancer Imaging is a critical service at Peter Mac, delivering high‑quality diagnostic and support services to patients and referrers. The administration team plays a vital role in ensuring seamless patient experiences, effective coordination of services, and accurate billing and information management across the imaging service.

 

About the role
The Manager Administration, Cancer Imaging is responsible for leading the daily operations of the administration team, ensuring a high‑quality, customer‑focused service to patients and referrers. The role is also accountable for driving continuous improvement and reform of administrative processes, including the effective management of radiology information systems and billing functions to support efficient and accurate service delivery.

 

A regular day will see you:

Lead and manage the administration team to deliver high‑quality, customer‑focused services across front of house, bookings, billing and administrative functions.
Drive continuous improvement of administrative processes, systems and workflows, including radiology information and billing systems.
Oversee human resource management activities including recruitment, performance management, supervision, training and development.
Manage financial operations including budgeting, monitoring, reporting and ensuring effective revenue capture and compliance of billing practices.

 

About you
You are a proactive and collaborative leader with strong operational and people management experience, ideally within a healthcare or complex service environment. You excel at improving processes, building high‑performing teams and delivering customer‑centred outcomes.

  • Demonstrated leadership and management experience, including financial and fostering effective teamwork.
  • Strong experience in developing, implementing and managing billing systems and administrative processes.
  • Highly developed planning, organisational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, consultation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and build strong relationships.
  • A strong customer‑focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement, education and high‑quality service delivery.
  • Experience in managing Radiology Information Systems is highly regarded.

Essential requirements
  • A tertiary qualification
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills in managing financial and human resources and fostering effective teamwork to achieve departmental/service and hospital targets and goals
  • Highly developed skills in developing, implementing and managing billing systems
  • Highly developed planning and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, consult, negotiate, and influence within a complex environment, and develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • A customer-focused approach
  • Commitment to continuous quality improvement, ongoing education, training, research, and consumer-centred care
  • Demonstrated skills in the use of IT systems including the use if the Microsoft Office suite

  • Experience managing Radiology Information systems

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensure a high level of customer-focus to all administrative functions

  • Lead the ongoing review, development, implementation and evaluation of administrative processes to ensure all administrative functions are completed to a high level (front of house, bookings, billing, management of Radiology information systems, other administrative duties)

  • Human resource management including recruitment, performance management, supervision, education and training

  • Financial management of the administration budget including budgeting, monitoring, management, reporting
5.
  • Lead the review, development, and implementation of billing functions to ensure compliance with legislative requirements and completeness of billing functions to ensure revenue capture. Develop a suite of reports to monitor billing and develop and implement auditing of the billing processes.

  • Management of key Radiology Information systems accounts for the Imaging
